Surfer One-Time
One payment, lifetime access
License Edition: Software Maintenance
License Type: Standalone-SingleUser
Overview
Take Surfer wherever you go – in the office, on site, or at home. With a single-user license, you may activate Surfer on up to two machines provided you are the only user. No internet or network access is required once the license is activated.
A single-user license is right for you if…
- You want to keep it simple and just use Surfer
- You have business-critical projects and must be able to access Surfer at any point
- You frequently visit client sites, are out in the field, or are away from the office
- You want your own license and don’t want to share (no judgement!)
The first year software maintenance is included in the initial license fee. Thereafter, you can renew your maintenance annually to maintain access to the latest version and other great benefits.
Details
With active software maintenance, your perpetual license includes:
- Access to the latest version of Surfer and Surfer Beta
- Free upgrades, updates, and fixes
- Access to priority technical support
- Access to pre-release features with Surfer Beta
Important notes:
- Single-user licenses may not be shared with others.
- Annual software maintenance may be renewed at your discretion. Should you choose not to renew, you will not get software maintenance benefits and must pay catch up for each year the software is expired. After 3 years of expired software maintenance, a new license must be purchased to access the latest version.

Optimizing Surfer Performance
- 3D View Issues: Upgrading to the latest graphics drivers may resolve problems with 3D view features.
- Processor Dependency: Heavily computational tasks like gridding and contouring are multi-threaded and processor reliant. A faster processor will improve Surfer's performance.
- Large Data Files: For processing very large data files, such as LiDAR or some vector data files, fast and large RAM storage capacity is recommended.
- Adjust Max Processors:Click the File | Options command and on the General page, set the Max number of processors to use all processor cores.
- Disable Auto Recovery Information: For improved performance, you can disable Save auto recovery information (File | Options | General). However, disabling this feature means you will lose any unsaved work if the program closes unexpectedly. Auto-recovery is highly recommended to protect your data.
